Our Building Process
STEPS TO BUILD A NEW HOME
Whether you are building your first home or your fifth, you can be sure that Lionhead Homes will be with you at every step along the way.
1 - Budget
Let’s start by creating a budget. We know every dollar counts, which is why we will work with you to help create a home you love, within your budget. Make a list of your must-have items and work from there.
2 - Location
Decide where you want to build your home. Are you still searching for land? That's okay. We can recommend a licensed real estate agent who can help you find and evaluate properties you may be considering for your future home.
3 - Agreement
Now you have a budget and place to build your home, it’s time to sign a construction agreement to have Lionhead Homes build your home. Once we have the agreement signed and have collected your deposit, the pre-construction work will begin.
4 - Design
It’s time to pick a design and then customize it to your family’s lifestyle. If you don’t have a plan we can help you find one or even design one from scratch. This is where you have the opportunity to select your wall cladding, paint, floor coverings, roof color, and appliances, but you can also move walls, add closet space, add square footage, and almost anything else to make your home uniquely your own.
5 - Build Prep
Before construction can begin on your home, there are a few necessary items that need to be completed. Some sites will require clearing or grading before anything can happen. Soil tests, surveying, and plot plans, as well as permits, are just a few of the things that need to be addressed before construction begins. We provide our customers with the information and guidance needed to understand each phase of construction.
6 - Construction
Once everything is prepared, it’s time to break ground and Watch Your Home Come to Life! Once construction begins, you will be in constant communication with the Lionhead Homes team. While you may not always see activity at your home site, you can be sure that there is always something being worked on in the overall build of your home. Below is a basic outline showing the order of progress for building your new home.
